Have you tried running "sudo dpkg --configure -a" in the Terminal?

Thanks for taking time to report a bug. Examining the information you have given it doesnt appear to be a bug. Someone in the answers section might help you out with your problem. Converting to a question.

To correct this problem just open Terminal (Applications → Accessories → Terminal) and type:
sudo dpkg --configure -a

Give your user password when requested. You will not see anything, but type it and press enter.

Then retry to update and/or to install desired package.

sudo: dpkg--configure-a: command not found

This is my response i got from the terminal after i type all ur commands
thank you anyways i am just going to wipe hard drive clean and intall a fresh install.

sudo <space> dpkg <space> --configure <space> -a
