blender no arranca

A lo que lo ejecutas por consola saca algún mensaje de error ?

Hace mucho tiempo cuando probé blender tenia el problema que tenia que
deshabilitar el compiz.. no se si este problema siga ...

Al darle por terminal me dice:

Compiled with Python version 2.5.4.
Checking for installed Python... got it!
Segmentation fault

Perdon pero qué es el Compiz???
