freecell crashes my ubuntu netbook

Is it anywhere in /var/log/messages?

Run this command:
grep "freecell" /var/log/messages

Also, is there anything that you know of (since you mention it) that is a pattern in the freecell crashes? Same PCs, video cards, anything?

Do any other applications crash your system?

To me PC means a micro$oft computer. I don't have one.

The crashes occur on my Eee PC. "Eee PC" is the brand name of an Asus (manufacturer name) netbook (small laptop).

The problem is not solved. Why should a question expire prior to a solution?

Freecell automatically expires questions, that have no activity, after 15 days. It does the same for bugs after 60 days.

The last thing I can thing of having you do is open a bug against freecell.

Well, let's see.

Often when dragging a card in freecell, my operating system crashes. As noted, it leaves no crash record.

Does that sound like "a question" that has been resolved? Or does it sound like a bug?

What version of Ubuntu are you running? You could always try upgrading to the latest version and see if that resolves your problem. Ubuntu will be releasing Ubuntu Netbook Remix Final for Jaunty in 2 - 3 days on the main site. It's release candidate is already out.

It sounds like a bug in Ubuntu itself (or freecell) that is causing a kernel panic/crash. That is why I suggested a bug report.

The best thing to get more attention to this question is to re-open it. This will put it on the main page (if you still wish to leave it in the form of a question).
