xsplash

Will XSplash be available for Kubuntu (KDM) too?

Hello!
At time, XSplash only loads GTK dependencies and needs an installed GDM. Is it planned to support KDE and KDM in XSplash too?

If I am reading that correctly, that means that at a point or another they intend to use xsplash in Kubuntu.

I don't have the answer either, but @Xavier: the page you found is just this:

...with a Kubuntu skin. I.e. it's not related to Kubuntu in any way, only to XSplash.

Aside from that, I'd also like to know the answer, and hope to have a nice xsplash in Kubuntu soon.

Check out this blueprint: https://blueprints.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/kubuntu-karmic-xsplash. Basically, it confirms that Kubuntu Karmic includes its own xsplash modified to work with KDE (i.e. Kubuntu logos and artwork instead of Ubuntu ones, work with kdm instead of gdm, etc.).

Hmm... When do we can see the Kubuntu-XSplash in Karmic? It is Beta at time and the specification says the feature is implemented, although I cannot even see a "kubuntu-xsplash-artwork" package.

It may be in there, but broken/not enabled yet. Also, the artwork may not be in Karmic yet, as I think the artwork freeze hasn't happened yet.

Artwork deadline was on September 24th, there is not kubuntu-xsplash-artwork submission.
