Wtf happened to Restricted Drivers in Ubuntu 12.10?

I recently installed a fresh copy of Ubuntu 12.10 Desktop (64-bit) and can't find the ability to install "Restricted Drivers" - i.e. the real Nvidia drivers that actually work well instead of the Noveau crap that ships by default. With the default "out-of-the-box" driver every now and then I randomly get unreadable text.

I tried installing Nvidia Drivers from the Software Center, but that made my computer pretty much unbootable, so I installed Ubuntu 12.10 from scratch again.

I've been using Ubuntu for years and after an install it has always automatically asked me if I wanted to install restricted video card drivers. What happend to this feature? It is one of the things that made Ubuntu awesome.

Any help would be appreciated. Alternatively if someone could easily explain how to install the drivers I can directly download from Nvidia that would be great, but the Nvidia instructions are a book. If it's that hard I'm just going to switch to Mint or an older version of Ubuntu.
