Display problem..... Plz help...

My monitor samtron 56v supports 1152*864
but I cant set that resolution

In display preferences ... ( system -> preferences -? Display preference )
It shows as unknown monitor
I can get 1024*768 resolution
In windows XP I can have 1152*864

i have intel 810 motherboard and intel 82810E display

ubunu 9.10

So, U can try to install fresh drivers ..

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates

If not helping .. try following, but PLEASE READ: https://edge.launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa

Well, just to avoid unstable drivers or rapidly updates .. U can remove ppa repos by 'sudo ppa-purge' in any time.

($ sudo apt-get install ppa-purge)

$ sudo ppa-purge ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
$ sudo ppa-purge ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa

Ok, could U attach file /var/log/Xorg.0.log
U can do it by
$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Also, U can convert this to bug and collect additional information by

$ apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-intel <BUG NUMBER>
