powerpc nvidia driver problems

I have Ubuntu 9.10 running on a PowerPC mac. My problem is that I can't find a way to get drivers for my NVedia GeForce4 mx. I saw instructions on how to do it, but they didn't tell me all that I was supposed to do. They said to edit the etc/X11/xorg.conf file. Here's what I think they wanted me to put:

Section "Device"
 Identifier "Configured Video Device"
 BusID "PCI:0:16:0"
 Driver "nv"
EndSection

All I did to change it was to add the " 'Driver' 'nv' ".
I don't have any hardware acceleration yet.
Can you help me?

what is the output of:

lsb_release -c

if it says:
Codename: karmic

Then you can rename xorg.conf and reboot, HAL / UDEV will detect the hardware and use the open driver.You will then get a desktop, you can then run:

gksudo jockey-gtk

and you can install the driver. If not you can run:

sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-96
