Resolution problem with Ubuntu 8.10, 9.04

Asked by Chandan (ಚಂದನ್)

I've been a using Ubuntu since its Edgy release. I'm currently running Ubuntu 8.04. Until now, I've had no issues in setting up my screen (nVidia Latest graphics card and Samsung Samtron 56V: CRT monitor) resolution at 1152x864 (or at least 1024x768), in any of these issues.
Mean while, I tried Ubuntu 8.10 and 9.04. I found that, in both the releases, they have not provided the 'displayconfig-gtk' tool, using which I was able to set my resolution properly in the early versions...

What's the solution? Can't I able to use any of these new releases, just because they don't support my screen..?

You can use synaptic to reinstall displayconfig-gtk.
