problems updating my Nvidia card

Asked by Bill Griffin

I am trying to install a video card upgrade (NVIDIA-Linux-x86-96.43.19-pkg1.run). I downloaded it to my downloads folder and I typed in the following command into the terminal:

sudo sh ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-96.43.19-pkg1.run

It responded with: can't open ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-96.43.19-pkg1.run

I tried it without the ./ and got the same response.

What am I missing?

When I put in lsb_release -a and got this response:

No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID:    Ubuntu
Description:    Ubuntu 10.10
Release:    10.10
Codename:    maverick

Do I need to move the update modules from my downloads folder?
