Force-quit application option?

Asked by Wise Melon

Sometimes an application crashes and refuses to close even when I right-click it in the task bar to press "Quit". And sometimes there are so many processes running from that program with different names, it is not good enough to just have to search for them in System Monitor. So is there some sort of way to 'force-quit' like you can do by pressing another key while right-clicking on the application in the task bar on a Mac? If not then that would be very useful.

Thanks! That worked, although a little too well... I accidentally just killed my task bar and everything went away and all I could see was my desktop picture, but then luckily it all came back! :D
