Chrome won't "open .exe files". It is a web browser, it is made to access content online. The only thing you can really "open" with it are plugin files to install them.

What is it you are actually trying to achieve? Maybe we can then advise some.

Thanks

Thanx, but I thought it was the Chrome OS, however, I have the Ubuntu OS. Linux. What I am trying to accomplish is to update my windows-based CCTV system with an update that had a .exe file. I bought parallels and HATE to load Windows, so i was trying the Ubuntu or chrome first,

You will need Windows to run the update. You could borrow a Windows system just for the upgrade.

The app may rin in wine, you could check the appdb for compatibility
