Using Prezi off-line

Asked by Chris St Cyr

I use Prezi for many presentations and classes. I download and use them off-line as I don't have a 3 or 4 g cellular connection to the internet and dont trust the places I train will have a wifi I can tap into. I can use Prezi on-line, but haven't figured out how do use it in Ubantu off-line. I know I need to install some software but am a new, clueless user.

https://prezi.com/desktop/ - "Prezi Desktop runs on Windows or Mac. Sorry, your operating system is not supported.", quoted from there download page, however, if you download the windows version it may be runnable under wine, (this is software that can run windows programs, it is available from the software center, you will have to find someway of tricking the prezi download page into thinking you are running windows however, so it lets you download it. The easiest way of doing this would probably be running the wine version of internet explorer which comes shipped with wine.

Actually you won't need to trick the website into thinking that you're running windows, by looking at the source I managed to find the windows download link here http://prezi-a.akamaihd.net/desktop/Install%20Prezi%20Desktop%204.1.1.exe just download wine from the software center then download this and open it with wine windows program loader (you may need to use right click open with, or it might try to open with archive manager)

Can you help with this problem?
