What is wrong with wine 1.4 ?

When installing Quicken I got a error message saying it was damaged . . Not so it works inside of Virtual Box inside of Windows and it is the same quicken I have used for years . . But inside of windows I have to use a folder on drive C do not want that as I have to open Virtual Box and run windows to get to quicken and then to copy files to flash drive is a pain . .

I got an error code of either 1 or I 678 I made a new folder and copied the CD to the folder and made the file Intall executaeable as per normall and made it read and write !

Maybe its known to not work under the release of Ubuntu you have.
If you make a new user and install there, is it ok?

This is 12.10 your latest one and with updates . . New User ? . . Never had that before . . maybe under User Groups and add me to a lot of the items on the list so the system will let me do things . . I am glad to see they put a Classic desk top in 12.10 . .
I re did the desktop folder with the contents of the Quicken CD added to it and made the permissions to read write andmade it ok to make it ok to use it as a executeable program

Hummm got another strange error this morning as I am slowly RE ADDING things that were removied by 12.10 the HPLIP said it could not detect a systen tray . . What does that mean as date, time, WiFi, audio volime. and battery are there . .

Your user can hold literally billions of users. If you run:

sudo adduser tester

Fill in the details and log off, then log in as the new user. Retry installing and using the app.
