vmware player breaks some host network settings in certain circumstances

I have installed Ubuntu 9.04 (with all the current updates up till Feb 19 anyway) and vmware player (version 2.5.1-126130.i386.bundle)

Everything works beautifully .. that is until I unplug the wired network connection and turn on the wireless. I've checked, and it's connecting to my wireless network.

When I uninstall VMware player, everything goes back to normal, and I can once again get a connection out to the internet.

But, so long as vmware player installed (and more importantly, the virtual network adapters that come with it) it breaks my wireless route.

Anyone have any ideas?

9.04 is still being tested and hasn't even reached beta testing yet, it's still on alpha testing. Please report any problems with it as bug-reports. Usually try to find a relevant affected package and go up to the "Help" menu and use the "Report a bug/problem" annoyingly you'll only be able to do that while there isn't a problem so the data sent to bug-squad wont be quite so helpful. Thanks for testing 9.04 as it helps development and the actual release date is looming up fast - it's good when someone helps the whole community in this way so thanks for that :)

If you are still having trouble with this then please post it as a new question. Only the most recent questions tend to get looked at so posting/re-posting a question just before america arrives online after work/school gives the best chance of getting a good few answers - such is the nature of the internet.
