is there any key that would allow me to switch from W7 to Ubuntu OS without having to restart or shut down my computer.

Asked by Li Chia

I am a new Ubuntu OS user and I would like to know if is there any key that would allow me to switch from my original W7 to Ubuntu OS without having to restart or shut down my computer. Also, how can I get all my files(Documentes, Photos, Music, Videos) from W7 to Ubuntu? What I am doing so far is just basically copy and paste all my files from W7 to Ubuntu through a jump drive, but I believe there should be an easier way to do it because the way that I am doing it just feels to me so primitive.

You can use virtualbox to boot the other OS virtually running both OSes at the same time but there have been links to data corruption.

If you want to install it in Windows, use the virtualbox site. If you want to run Windows from within ubuntu, install it from software centre.

Can you help with this problem?
