After changing to gnome panel, how do I access the trash?

I'm in 12.04.1 and let's just say I'm not a fan of the unity desktop - so I got help on converting back to the gnome panel question 212568 ( https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-meta/+question/212568 ) but my desktop does not have a trash folder - it has not had one since I installed the gnome panel... Any suggestions?

Hi ,

do you want the Trash Icon on you desktop environment?

I assume here that you can access the Trash folder via nautilus file manager , correct ?

If I understood (guessed) correctly , then install a tool that will help you to handle the desktop.

From terminal (CTRL+ALT+T)

$ sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool

Then search - find and open this tool , it will listed as "advanced settings" under Applications > System Tools (if I recall correctly)

You will figure it out , is easy , just click the button from OFF to ON and Trashcan will show up.

Um - actually, no, I have not accessed it via the file manager (I don't know where it is within the filesystem)... But the tweak tool did the trick - Thanks!
