Constantly Apps fail to launch, internal error at start up

Constantly Apps fail to launch, internal error at start up: Hi I'm sure Ubuntu is a nice Operating System. But can Canonical manage to get it to actually function as an Operating System? Usually Canonical does something which causes the Hard Drive to become continually busy after a cold start, and then after reboot continually demonstrates the above mentioned issues.
