Hi Djanji,
The calendar & tasks functionality in thunderbird is handled by a plugin called "lightning". To install this plugin, search for "lightning" (without the quotes) in Synaptic Package Manager & install it from there.

Another way of doing this is to type the following command into a terminal window (Applications --> Accessories --> Terminal):
sudo apt-get install lightning

Hi Djanji,
Please accept my apologies for the mistake. The actual package (in Synaptic Package Manager) you need to install is called "lightning-extension". Please see linked screenshot for more details.

Therefore the actual terminal command would be:
sudo apt-get install lightning-extension

Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

Hi Djanji,
It is unfortunate that you are still unable to fully utilise the lightning plugin. Please read through the documentation at the sites listed below as i believe they will be very helpful in explaining how to use the calendar functions:
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:Home_Page
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:User_Documentation
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:FAQ

Kind Regards,
Mitch
