Asked by Günther Bauer

Some time ago i reported a bug for the programm tailor in Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy.
Until now nothing is happening, so I am unsure i have reported the bug at the right place.
Is this place to report bugs for tailor correct?

It is the right place.
Usually it won't be upgraded in an older version of Ubuntu like Hardy in this case.

Sad but true.

You can choose to compile that thing yourself, or try to use the Intrepid- or Jaunty-Version (both 0.9.35).

Much Luck!

Hello midnightflash,
thanks for your answer. I have always thought bugfixes was added to the older versions of ubuntu. A pity that this is not so.
The different ways to update self the package in my ubuntu is not a problem, but many other people don't know this.

That's it. Security-Fixes in the Main-Branch... yes. Bugfixes... only if veryvery important. And agai... only in Main.
In the Uni- and Multiverse... bad behave in this. Or let's say: to hard rules. Sometimes I disdain Ubuntu for especially this.

We got a PC-Lab with Hardy and a few normal workstations too. Sometimes it's real pain in the b&%$ in such cases. Especially for unexperienced users as you say for the truth.

So the people begin to fiddle around with PPAs and other even more untrusted repositorys...

Liebe Grüße ;-)
