synaptic package manager wont start

i try to open my synaptic package manager but as it starts a error box pops up and reads as follows
"E: Malformed line 50 in source list /etc/apt/
E: The list of sources could not be read.
Go to the repository dialog to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report."
earlier i tried to include the repository "deb http://
from the terminal as follows
add-apt-repository "deb http://
can u tell me how i can fix my problem and reset my synaptic package manager
