Fstab Network Shares Locking up on boot

Asked by Mike Branam

I mount my network shares in fstab as read only with the following:

//192.168.1.150/fileserver /media/fileserver cifs username=****,password=**** 0 0

Can anyone confirm recent updates have broken this? My old ubuntu VMs work fine. New installs with updates lock up on boot and cause kernel panics.

it works with kernal 3.2.0.24 mounting to /media the problem occurs in kernal 3.2.0.29 mounting to /media

I've tested kernal 3.2.029 mounting /mnt and it appears to work fine

disregard above. VM works fine all around. New install won't mount at all without hanging
