songs disappear one at a time from library then appear one at a time upon startup

Asked by MJBens

When logging into Ubuntu 9.04 and into RB

all of my 8000+ songs listed there automatically start disappearing one by one from the library.

When the song count gets low to a hundred or so, the songs start appearing again one by one until every song is replaced.

The library folder is on a separate HD than where the OS is installed.

I'm new to Linux and Ubuntu so terms that I would understand would be helpful.

Thanks in advance,

-Bens

It appears that when you start Rhythmbox, the external hard disk might not be mounted automatically, and there is a delay before the problem realises that the songs are indeed available.

There has been an announcement that the Rhythmbox development will stop if noone comes up to take up the task.
