Hi ,

I think you have to use a tool named devilspie . See here: http://www.webupd8.org/2011/02/how-to-start-applications-minimized.html

Thanks

So there's no way to do it natively?

Look , as far as I know , rhythmbox is integrated to the sound system indicator , if you click the sound icon (up bar - left) you will see Rhythmbox listed there. If you click will open once and then you can close Rhythmbox and handle it from the sound icon.

Is like Rhythmbox is always open and not need to open it (but once to activate it).

Thanks

That's the problem: "If you click will open once and then you can close Rhythmbox and handle it from the sound icon."
Is there a native way to open it minimized this first time?

So that it is active but not with the window open?

So It can be started it at system startup without showing up and be just ready at user need it.

Try to import all your music to the library of Rhythmbox and then don't open it and try to play your music from the icon sound.

But if you want to choose track you have to open the library = Rhythmbox.

Thanks

If I import, then close it (Ctrl+Q), then push "play" from the sound menu, it opens the window.

In old versions there was the option --hide, but now it's gone.

Yes , the --hide option is no longer available. Use

~$ rhythmbox --help-all

to see the all the options. I didn't see any option for hide.

So if you don't find any integrated solution , use devislpie program to do your "job."

Thanks
