Ram usage keeps going up non stop on each song load

Asked by Jonathan Acosta

I've had some trouble when Using Rhythmbox where its RAM usage keeps going up each time a song loads and starts playing, at about 1 to 3 MB per song.

I've even reached the point where the program takes up more than 1 GB of ram in my computer, which of course will make it sluggish and even freeze at moments.

I'm on Ubuntu 12.04, 3GB RAM, 1TB HD, System is up to date and using external M-Audio FastTrack card for output.

Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

Should I report a bug?

Have you tried selecting memtest from the grub bootloader, (either just select it at boot, or hold shift at boot to get the menu, before selecting memtest), if you installed using wubi, you won't have grub, so I'm not sure how you can test your ram.

To address Rhythmbox's increasing RAM usage on song load in Ubuntu 12.04, try updating Rhythmbox and related packages. If the issue persists, consider reporting a bug with detailed steps to reproduce the problem. Monitor the Ubuntu forums or community for similar cases and potential fixes. Anyway, check out more low capacity ringtone songs here https://chartsringtones.com/

My opinion is that you upgrade to a newer version of Ubuntu for support and improved performance. Besides, you can also refer to https://tondeapel.info/tonuri-de-apel-iphone to download sounds and songs with lower capacity.

Can you help with this problem?
