rsync script for online recovery

Asked by Markus Pachali

According to the namual on the Project page (http://pgpool.projects.postgresql.org/pgpool-II/doc/pgpool-en.html#online-recovery) there is an rsync-script "pgpool_recovery" for online recovery. But in the Pakage (im using Ubuntu 8.04 Server) there is no such script.
Also there should be some C Language files which must be compiled and installed, but there are no such files.
Can anybody tell me where i can get these files and scripts?

best regards
Markus

Where did you obtain these files from for installation?

Please ensure the files you installed, from the aptitude repositories, are indeed "pgpool2" and not "pgpool." This may be your problem. First, remove pgpool before adding pgpool2 to avoid conflicts.

Also, for more about rsync a good article can be found at: http://www.linux.com/feature/121604 if you wish to read it. It's mainly for beginners into rsync, however.

I had installed the package pgpool2 (http://packages.ubuntu.com/source/hardy/pgpool2) and there are no scripts for rsync and online backup. I had also downloaded the sources (http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/p/pgpool2/pgpool2_1.3.orig.tar.gz) to have a look if the scripts are there, but there are no scripts too.
Thanks for the article but at the moment i don't need more information about rsync.
I think the problem could be that the package repository for Ubuntu 8.04, 8.10 and 9.04 contains version 1.3 of pgpool2 and the latest release of pgpool2 is 2.2.
