nvidia: just installed netbeans, it loads but does not display anything on the monitor

it displays the loading window and load progress bar just fine, but after its done loading its just a inactive icon on my dash bar.
first I installed the JDK 7u6 + NetBeans, that did not work.
secondly i installed the JDK and the netbeans seperetly, still doesn't work.

where should i start looking for the solution?

could it be a java issue?
or a nvidia graphics issue?
