Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug.

This is not a brasero issue... is some nautilus dir open app association issue.

On a work area with any app open press alt+f2 and type

nautilus

then press enter.

select a directory then right click with mouse and change the "open with..." association

As I mentioned in the bug I originally posted "the bug is there's no way to return to Nautilus functionality instead of brasero. I might understand if you want to change this to be a bug to some other part of Ubuntu." So there is a bug in Ubuntu 10.10 that caused the "open with ..." association to change for Places, Home and Desktop.

Thank you for your suggested solution, Marco, all is better now!
