mobile broadband connectivity

Asked by chris copper

I cannot connect my mobile broadband to ubuntu 10.04, as it is being recognised as a memory stick instead of a mobile broadband dongle.

I have tried the set up wizard, and it does not work.

How do i get my mobile broadband to be recognised as a dongle instead of a memory stick ??

thanks.

hello,

it is a uk dongle with Orange, the dongle is a 515m. It has a seperate micro sd in the dongle so when the dongle is inserted it sees it as a memory stick, not as a mobile broadband dongle.

many thanks

Please open a terminal and copy from here and paste to the terminal the row below:

wget https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mobile-broadband-provider-info/20100804-1/+build/1917694/+files/mobile-broadband-provider-info_20100804-1_all.deb

Then still using terminal install the deb package:

gksudo gdebi mobile-broadband-provider-info_20100804-1_all.deb
