How to request upstream kernel change inclusion in Ubuntu 20.04

Hi,

our company produces Intel Apollolake based tablets and some of our customers would like to use Ubuntu as the OS.
Current situation is that display backlight in one of our tablet variants does not work with current kernels. We requested Intel to implement a kernel fix for that and it is currently on its way to 5.6 kernel (https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/next/linux-next.git/commit/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/display/intel_dsi_vbt.c?h=next-20200129&id=8cbf89db294166cc13d90a89422605e0c9f8bbc2). Unfortunately that change has an issue and it is not working correctly, fix for that issue currently on it's way to 5.7 kernel in drm-intel-next (https://cgit.freedesktop.org/drm/drm-intel/commit/?id=de409661c4c90d63cfc64579edbad0a6b10bd50d).
Since optimal situation would be that both changes would be included in first release of Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, allowing us to recommend that release to our customers, what would be the correct way to request inclusion of the changes to kernel in 20.04 release considering that it is not yet released and the bug process does not apply as far as I understand ?
