entering paychecks into kmymoney2

Asked by Joe Beall

I'm a recent migrant from XP and MS Money 2002 and am running Karmic. For the most part, I like KMyMoney2 but I've not been able to find a way to enter paycheques and breaking them down from gross to net. This certainly isn't a deal-breaker issue but it would be nice to know if the feature is available.
Thanks.
Joe Beall

I'm not an active user of the program so I cannot help directly. If you don't receive any answer here, you might want to try
the KMyMoney users' list https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/kmymoney2-user

There is no wizard to enter your paycheck, if that's what you are looking for.

What most of us do is create a schedule. In the schedule you create a split transaction, that's a transaction which has multiple categories and accounts, unlike the normal 1-account, 1-category transactions.
You can enter a split transaction by clicking on the icon of a split.

Thanks to Uwe and Hei for your replies. I was, in fact, looking for a wizard like the one in MS Money and if there is none then that ends the issue. KMyMoney works pretty much perfectly for me otherwise.
Thanks again guys!
J.
