Report with only totals please?

Asked by Bunjie

How do I construct a savings account report (for all dates) based only on category TOTALS? I would like to see a one-page summary of where my savings account stands in relation to each category, but with none of the independent transactions listed. Is there a way to do this?

You can try the Income and Expense reports. Also, the budget reports have that information too.

I should perhaps be more clear about my request. What I mean by "one page summary" is that I want TOTALS ONLY and absolutely no listing of individual transactions. The Income and Expense reports do list totals, but over time, one would have to wade through pages and pages of individual transactions to get the totals. I want only the totals without each transaction listed. Is there a way to get only the totals and none of the individual transactions? Thanks for your help.

And I should have been more clear myself too.
Try the "Income and Expenses this year" report. It is in the Income and Expenses group.

That report does not list transactions. If you don't want to see individual categories, you can click on the Customize button. go to the Row/Column tab and change the level of detail to Group.
I think that should do what you want.

This applies to version 0.9.2 and above.

Yes, this works perfectly! It took a few adjustments, but it is just what I wanted. Thank you so much.
