I'm using kile to write a paper in latex and I need to add packages but I'm not sure how to do that. Anyone know?

Asked by jomccaslin

I downloaded latex from the universe via apt-get (I believe tex-live, right?) and then I downloaded kile the same way. Now I'm trying to use a package called fullpage (\usepackage{fullpage} in the preamble) but I don't have the package. . . How can I fix that? Thanks!

Fullpage package is part of preprint package -- http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/preprint/ -- download it and install it -- here is howto for installing latex packages -- http://theoval.sys.uea.ac.uk/~nlct/latex/novices/installsty.html

If you're lazy, it's worth searching for the package name in synaptic. Some packages are part of bundles of packages not automatically installed with LaTeX. If you don't mind the rest of the bundle coming along, you can get quite a few packages this way...

In this case, installing texlive-latex-extra gives the fullpage package.

Can you help with this problem?
