x Keeps Crashing

Asked by William Woolrich

Hi,

I had trouble with running KeePass for mono. It wouldn't display any fonts. I implemented the solution covered here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/462349

where it was suggested I upgrade x-org.

Indeed that did correct the problem but now the system is quite unstable. It freezes or crashes fairly often, especially running prism applications. KeePass can wait and I'd like to reverse the "upgrade". Could anyone suggest how I might undo what I've done?

Thanks in advance!

Holden

I followed the code below to resolve bug #462349 but my netbook now crashes/freezes so often I'm on the verge of uninstalling ubuntu. If someone could assist I'd be so appreciative.

add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

It's updated to the most recent version of xorg but I need to go back to the supported/default version. How might one do this?

Thanks in advance,

Holden

If you still need help on this, you can install ppa-purge to get rid of packages from a PPA and revert to the version in the main repo.

Can you help with this problem?
