Google Calendar does not provide a standardized way (e.g. webcal) to bidirectional exchange calendar data. There are two or three bad hacks (e.g. a local proxy) which I all found quite unstable and unusable, especially because they doubled entires quite often. So I will not recommend, nor support them.
The Novell Evolution road map promises Google calendar support for the next gnome release (included in gutsy). I guess KDE is also working on solutions, since Google calendar got quite popular the last months.
I'm sorry I can't provide you a really valuable answer. You should just wait until Google calendar is integrated into kdepim.

Thank you Markus. I would prefer to wait vs use something from Novell
Microsoft! Evolution is being removed from all installations we have.

I am now waiting for kdepim to support Google calendar. So until then yes I do
have a problem which I will live with vs use a product linked to Micrcosoft.

Would you mind not using HTML enabled mails with launchpad? It looks quite strange, see: https:/
Thanks!

Hello, You can do two way syncronization of Google Calendars using a Java Program called GCALDaemon, i have had it working now for well over a year and it works flawlessly. I actually just figured out how to use it to also work Kaddressbook. If there is any drawback to it i would have to say the fact its Java and so it requires a working Java configuration, this is easy BUT it does tend to eat a fair amount of ram everytime i syncs. The only other limitation is really on Googles side in that the gmail contacts DB does not support all of the fields that KDE's Kaddressbook does.
KDE has it done right, only thing i would love to see is some kind of db extension for Kontact to store everything back in a MySQL database. If that happened think how easy it would be for someone/anyone to create a web interface for it... TRULY SICK.
That is what i want for Xmas.

With Kontact 1.4.2 I can get the information from Google Calendar but not write to it.....I was under the impression that this latest version did not need the GCALDaemon.....am I mistaken. Also...nothing actually shows in my Kontact Calendar pane...but it does show in the Summary....this is really weird.
Can you help with this problem?
