Currently your package management system is in a stuck state, because there is a (probably stalled) install process still running and blocks all other activities.
Try again with these commands:
sudo fuser -vk /var/cache/
sudo apt install -f
and copy/paste the output into this question document.

W: APT had planned for dpkg to do more than it reported back (36 vs 52).
Affected packages: bbswitch-dkms:amd64 ca-certificates
After that the apt upgrade worked, and dpkg --audit didn't show anything.
Please let me know if we need to run something else to validate that the issue is fixed.
I really appreciate your help Manfred
Regards
Sergio

I do not see any severe problem any more.
There is a warning about virtualbox. To investigate that, what is the output of the commands
dpkg --print-
dpkg --print-
grep virtualbox /etc/apt/

You have to edit the sources.list configuration file and change the line for virtualbox.
issue the command
sudo gedit /etc/apt/
and in the editor window that opens change the line
deb https:/
into
deb [arch=amd64] https:/
save the file and close the editor and finally issue the command
sudo apt update
What output do you receive?
