How to turn off week numbers in Date Navigator?

In the date navigator (small monthly calendar at upper left of screen) I see the "week numbers" listed to the left of the calendar (17/18, 18/19 etc.). Is there a way to turn these off? It would gain me some precious screen space, especially desirable in month view, which is what I normally use. Thanks!
