I seem to be unable to send sms in Kopete,
is it capable of this, or no.

As far as I know.. SMS is a totally different topic compared to regular internet IM. Therefore, Kopete doesn't do SMS. However, there are some SMS clients out there for linux. Here is a link..

yes, i think you are correct,
kopete is a neat program, seems they would be able to build sms into it, i thought i was doing something wrong
earlier I did download a program called sim-im,
but could not get that up and running,

i will continue my efforts,
but thanks for your information,
i will check it out
