I have yahoo, but it won't let me compose an e-mail or reply to one. Thought I might need to become a ubuntu member. I need to know what to do inorder to compose and reply to e-mails.

First an adminstrative not. Please only click the button once, otherwise the comment is created multiple times.

I understand you are having difficulty composing mail in yahoo, and that for some reason, your cursor is not working.

I've just tested my setup, and it is working fine.

Are you using Yahoo Mail Classic or the New Yahoo Mail?

Hi Joel,

I'm stumped. I tested both Yahoo Mail New and Classic, neither had a problem. Do you have any other applications open other than Firefox?

If so, close them and try again.

If you are using "rich text" change to "plain text" and see if that works.

If that doesn't help, this will eliminate compiz as a possible source of the problem:

    $ metacity --replace &

If that didn't help, you can restore compiz by:

    $ compiz --replace &

I've not heard of your problem in Linux, very common with Internet Explorer users though ...
