i am getting two cdrom icons and two floppie icons

i have two cdrom icons and two floppie icons,one cdrom and one floppie has a green arrow on each,i tried useing those and they would not load my media,the others would but would not exe the programs.how do you solve this.

This isn't a problem with only running Windows programs on Linux. Most windows programs won't run on Macs either unless the discs specifically say that they work for Mac and Windows.

Once Linux becomes more popular it is possible that they will run under Linux without having to use emulators or workarounds like Wine.

Another option is to set the computer up as dual boot so that it can work with Windows and Ubuntu. You just reboot into the version that you need for the task at hand.

Or you can try using a virtual machine of some sort such as those offered by VMware or Parallels. Both offer software that runs on top of Linux that you can then install a whole other operating system inside (like windows... or even other versions of Linux) that you can then install software like your children's games inside.

I am also getting Couldn't display "/media/cdrom0/bob
the builder.exe
also will not run setup.exe
Ok,how do i run these childers games without
(wine)also what is WINE. edubuntu was installed
cleaned,you used to could go into windows registery
and delete that line can you do that in linux.
