Windows no longer boots after attempted Ubuntu removal.

Asked by Matthew S. McCard

I followed this idiot's guide: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/nongeeks-guide-safely-uninstall-ubuntu-dualbooting-machine/
After writing the MBR, I tried to restart, like it said. I got a screen that said "Windows can't boot". Something about recent hardware or software changes. There is no "safe boot" option when I press F8. Neither of what I select when I press F12 works either! Thankfully, I still had my USB stick and can use Ubuntu for now. I'd like to get Windows back! I'm going to try to re-install Ubuntu. Maybe with GRUB back, I can try again.

Use your Windows boot CD and reinstate your boot loader. Not actually an Ubuntu issue. You removed Ubuntu and nowe only have WIndows. Your issue is with Windows.

The CD that came with Windows should allow you to fix the MBR see here:

Can you help with this problem?
