USB Hard Disk
Asked by

Hello,
I have a 1Tb external USB hard disk that was working OK until I copied a large file on the drive. These are just files not system or bootable. It crashed and is now not readable.
I am using 11.04 (Not a dual boot) and the drive was formatted on Linux. The Disk Utility says that it is an HPFS/NTFS drive. It will not mount. It is not recognized by gparted.
Is all hope lost? Do I have to format it and start from scratch?
Regards,
Allan :)
