There are two models of this camera - one works and the other does not. With your webcam plugged in type lsusb into a terminal and post the result.

The figure that should come up is either 046d:08ca or 046d:08c1

i have a webcam (logitech) i don't know the model number recently install the ubuntu os in my laptop i don't know how to install the softwares like webcam and another softwares i already connect the webcam but i didn't get any message like new hardware found how to install my webcam drivers and another softwares like vlc palyer, media player why because i have cbts with me it not palyed in this os how to play that just i got tone only
