wierd picture on top panel, some icons disappear

Asked by Carol Parkin

I have a wierd picture on the top panel, when it came, all the right icons disappeared. Volume, connection, time, etc.
The left icons are there but the picture has taken over the plain panel.

When did this happen?

Is it a fresh install, after a recent change (what) or did it just appear without warning?

Also is there any chance you can paste screen shot?

Heya. I borrowed Carol's laptop to fix the issue. There was some sort of corruption... this report was for gnome-panel issues in gnome fallback desktop. The issue was fixed with resetting gnome panel (dconf reset -f /org/gnome/gnome-panel/).

The install was still having issues, so I did a reinstall overtop of existing (preserving user documents) but also had issues (mouse not working). I ended up having to backup user data and do a complete destructive reinstall. It's fine now. I'm not sure where the issue was. At a certain point I stop asking those questions.

Can you help with this problem?
