My panel at the bottom of the screen.

Asked by Randolph

Ok. I have been playing around with my system( I have an Unbuntu - Mozilla FireFox v3 something. so if you can tell me how to add the upgrade that would be a BONUS!!! ) and trying to learn how to do "stuff".

I am NOT computer-literate and here is what I did...the icons at the bottom of the screen in the panel, i.e. the icon to mute or raise/lower volume, the battery icon that acts like a gas gauge, you get the idea.

Weeeeeellll, I "accidentally" deleted the afore mentioned icons, and can not find them ANYWHERE!!!

I have looked ALL over my system and can not seem to pin those wask-a-we wabbits down. HELP!!!

I have a friend who knows Linux and Unbuntu well, but he works long hours and I will not be able to get with him for at least a week of so.

But I can not adjust the volume on my computer and I listen to ALOT of music.

Any advice you can give will be MOST appreciated!

Try to do this:
1. Open a terminal by hitting CTRL + ALT + T
2. Insert and run this commands:
gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/panel
rm -rf ~/.gconf/apps/panel
pkill gnome-panel
