Can expired questions be re-opened without asking them again?

Asked by thingy

I see some expired questions that I could answer but there is no way to answer them once they have expired. This means that all those who subscribed to the question are now not going to know if I do contact the submitter and let him know how to do something.

Need a way to re-activate expired questions!

I suppose you can click to edit the expired question, put a few newlines then save.
In this way, the question will become open again.

hmm I guess only the question submitter can re-open the question then.

What a pity - that makes it harder for us to help the original submitter and all those subscribed.

And it is odd that I can comment on solved questions, but not expired ones.
