I'm having trouble getting WiFi toggle working

Asked by david shinn

First of all, I'm a complete newbie to Linux. the Wifi toggle won't 'switch on". I've run suggested commands, still no results. The computer is a 2011 HP 2000 Laptop, wireless network controller is Ralink corp RT5390 wireless 802.11n 1T/1R.
 below is a copy of the results

DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Linux Mint 20.1 Ulyssa"

You are using Linux Mint, not Ubuntu. Linux Mint has it's own forum and support network which is entirely separate from Ubuntu's. I suggest you post on the mint forum here

https://forums.linuxmint.com/

None of the "Ubuntu based" distributions are suported by the Ubuntu community. Only the releases by Canonical are supported here

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask david shinn for more information if necessary.
