User's $HOME/.dmrc ownership issue

Asked by Ken Otto

I am running version 8.04 (Hardy Heron) AMD64. I started the process to install 9.10 AMD64, but, quit very early in the process as I did not want to have a second partition for 9.10. Now, every time I logon, I get a message that says User's $HOME/.dmrc is not owned by me. How do I fix this issue?

cd /home; sudo chown -R $USER:$USER ./$USER

will fix it. Run the command as it is above as the user with issues.
