sudo add-apt-repository ppa:robert-ancell/gnome-games; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get upgrade

Should give a later version and may help

I typed in the first line. Terminal asked for my password but it didn't show on screen when I typed. I tried copying and pasting, this didn't work either

The sudo password input gives no feedback of any kind. Just keep typing
