No single window for GIMP 2.8 64-bit?

Asked by Sadi Yumuşak

I recently moved to a 64-bit system and did a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04.1 and all my applications.
I was surprised to find GIMP 2.8 in the old multi-window mode.
I wonder if there is anything I should do to get the single-window GIMP 2.8 as in my 32-bit system or is this new feature not available for 64-bit systems yet?

Try:

mv ~/.gimp-2.8 ~/.gimp-2.8_old

Then launch Gimp, under the Window menu you should see the single window mode option. Also, did you add a PPA to get Gimp 2.8?

Oops, sorry... I forgot it didn't start in single-window mode as default, but required user action from the window menu... Thanks a lot!
