KDE loads when I want Gnome

Asked by ahambidge

Hello,

I am using 11.04 Ubuntu Classic No Effects on an Acer laptop. This was working great with Gnome but now loads KDED Global Shortcut Menu on start up.

I do not want this and do not know how to stop it. I have ubuntu-desktop installed.

Regards,

Allan :)

Hello,

I ran the killall command and then rebooted. The KDE desktop reloaded. On trying again I am back to Gnome.

The KDE screen that was loading is not visible in the Start Up menus.

Thanks for the info.

I will see how it goes after a few reboots.

Hello,

It works and then it does not work so it is still not resolved.

I rebooted after the killall and KDE loaded. I did a killall and rebooted again and Gnome loaded. Strange.

Allan :)

Hello,

I used: gconftool –recursive-unset /apps/panel && killall gnome-panel and this appears to have resolved the problem.

Allan :)
